Muhammed Babangida, son of Nigeria's former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, has rejected appointment as Board Chairman, Bank of Agriculture by President Tinubu.
A letter conveying his rejection of the appointment by Tinubu has been released to the public, generating wide reactions amongst Nigerians.
"After careful reflection and consultation, I have decided, with utmost respect, to decline the appointment", Babangida noted.
The former leader's son however expressed readiness to support national development in other ways where his expertise may be of service.
Whether Babangida's rejection of the Board appointment by President Tinubu is connected with 2027 is unconfirmed, however, many appointees of Tinubu of Northern extraction have been seen recently tendering their resignation letters, suggesting soured relationship between the Tinubu Presidency and the North.
