Few days after being accused by the Edo State government of alleged unauthorized fund raising for a proposed Oil and Gas Summit, suspended former Special Adiser to Edo State governor on Oil and Gas, Felix Isere, has been replaced by Kay Otono.
Isere was further advised to refund monies raised to donors, with the proposed programme suspended.
A letter released by Edo SSG, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq. July 31st, 2025, has announced Kashimu Otono as replacement for Felix Isere.
"It is hereby announced for the information of the general public that the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Barr. Kashimu Otono as Special Adviser (Oil and Gas) to the governor", the letter read.
Felix Isere's action has generated mixed reactions across quarters—while many saw it as an offence deserving proper sanctions, others believe his inexperience in public service may have misguided him, appealing to Okpebholo to show mercy and reinstate him.
Isere has however been replaced by Otono.
