Reports of forced resignation of illegal acting Council Chairmen in Edo State has reached us—these Chairmen who were illegally and violently imposed across Councils by Okpebholo against lawful order are now being forced to resign.
Whereas the rationale for their forced resignation hasn't been made clear, speculations has it that Okpebholo intends to place his Party faithful across Councils, as the illegal acting Chairmen are never seen as part of the ruling APC.
Recall that there were emergency defections from PDP to APC by the illegal Chairmen after their violent and illegal imposition.
True to the forced resignation, the illegal acting Chairman of Esan West Local Government, Godsent Agboibo, has on Monday, tendered his resignation to the Esan West Legislative House Leader, thanking the Leader for the support during his illegitimate tenure.
Other Councils where illegal acting Chairmen currently occupy, are expected to follow suit.
"As a loyal Party man and committed supporter of our governor, Monday Okpebholo, and a man of integrity and peace, I hereby tender my resignation as Chairman with effect from 22nd September, 2025", the illegal Chairman said.
The illegality that has reduced Edo Councils to banana peel, signposts a broader picture of illegal and illegitimate dealings that characterizes Okpebholo's 10-month old administration.
