_...hails Oba of Benin for defending Benin culture_
By Gidigba Group
Women across markets in Benin City, on Friday, trooped out in large numbers to collectively reject the aberration perpetrated by Okpebholo, Tinubu's daughter against the Benin nation—the purported "coronation" of Archbishop Josephine "Otagbogbo" Ibhaguezejele, as "Iyaloja" in Benin markets.
The women hailed Oba of Benin for his defence of the age-long culture of the Benin nation, noting that his rejection of the alien "Iyaloja" was timely and welcomed by Benins worldwide.
Market women in Oka market, Ogiso, Ekiosa, New Benin, Uselu, and other markets across Benin City have been seen in jubilant mood, with a vow to continue to support and honour the Omo n'Oba.
Friday's protests and other planned protests marks a radical shift in the proposed imposition of a non-Benin woman as "Iyaloja" of Benin markets—a strange, alien and unacceptable development in Benin culture and of cause, the Benin market community.
Our market women have been charged to remain vigilant, and report any form of intimidation and harassment by Pst. Josephine and her minions to relevant authorities—they have been reminded to desist from paying any form of rates, levies, taxes or royalties to the impostor Josephine or her representatives, who have been declared persona non grata across markets in Edo South, (Egor, Ikpoba-Okha, Oredo, Ovia North East, Ovia South West, Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode).
And as more protestations are underway by individuals and groups of Benin extraction, we urge our people to continue to engage online and land, to see to it that strangers, impostors do not hijack the age-long Benin tradition and culture that has kept us together for Centuries—Oyayasivbievbuomwan.
Oba gha t'kpere, ise.
