It is with profound sadness that I received the news of the passing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, an international evangelist, visionary preacher, and founder and president of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association. His life was a radiant testimony of faith, devotion, and tireless service to God and humanity.
Rev. Dr. Ukpai was not merely a preacher; he was a spiritual father, a nation-builder, and a vessel through whom God touched countless lives. His powerful crusades, healing ministry, and unflinching commitment to spreading the gospel made him one of the most influential voices in Africa’s Christian revival movement.
Through his words and works, Rev. Ukpai inspired generations to embrace righteousness, hope, and compassion.
Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai’s unwavering faith and devotion remain a personal inspiration to me, a reminder that true greatness lies in selfless service to God and humanity. I fondly recall his fatherly affection and the spiritual guidance he so generously extended to my wife, Betsy, guidance that strengthened her faith, deepened her compassion, and continued to shape her walk with God.
From his humble beginnings in Akwa Ibom State, he rose to global prominence as a servant-leader in Christ, founding institutions and programmes that continue to uplift communities spiritually, educationally, and socially. His life embodied steadfast belief, moral courage, and boundless love for humanity.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Pastor (Dr.) Mrs. Philomena Uma Ukpai, their children, and the entire Ukpai family. We share in your grief, even as we celebrate a life that was wholly devoted to advancing God’s kingdom and uplifting mankind.
May the Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest, comfort his family, and preserve the enduring light of his ministry for generations to come.
