The recent power outage that has been created a lot of Discomfort for Edolites over the past few weeks not only calls for worry but has been traced to a clear Political Malfeasance and indecisive nature of the current APC led administration.
Before now, Edo People had a 55 Mega Watts Ossiomo Power Plant and the Azurra Power House both of which complemented and consolidated the Power provision from the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), a company that has a great working relationship with the previous Government of Governor Godwin Obaseki whose Cerebral Inputs and Administrative experience played a pivotal role in providing Effective Power Supply to Edo people especially during the festive Season of Christmas 🎄 and New Year which Edolites can attest to any time, any day and at any given opportunity.
But is sardonic to say that the power situation under this current APC led administration in Edo and generally in Nigeria 🇳🇬 has been the poorest in history 🤔
How some persons may wish to question 😕🤔?
Let us not forget that Nigerians use to have 9-12 hours of uninterrupted Power Supply prior to 2015 before the APC led administration came to deceive most Nigerians 🙄 with "CHANGE" that has led to criminalising the process with which our collective resources have been consistently looted and stolen 🙄 coupled with the fact that the APC has taken Nigerians to the "NEXT LEVEL" of Economic Hardship, Insecurity, Hunger, Starvation, Multi-dimensional Poverty, Stagflation, Galloping and double digit inflation as well as making the Nigerian Nation an object of international mockery and laughing stock to the extent that the current United States of America 🇺🇸 🙄 President has now declared 📜 our Deat Country a "Nation of Particular Concern" under this Tinubu led Government 🙄.
Is this the renewed hope they promised us? Is this the Economic Revolution they Campaigned with? Is this the Democratic Dividend that Nigerians deserve in their country 😳? Or are Nigerians now so insignificant to the extent that the National Electricity Grid continues to collapse, yet, other smaller Nations like Burkina Faso and the Republic of Ghana now have stable electricity 🙄 when compared to a nation that boasts to be the Giant of Africa? Or is difficulty now part of what the political class feel is the political birthright of the Nigeria 🇳🇬 Citizenry? Hell NO👎 one would say!
Back to the issue, why did the current Edo State Government disconnect itself from Ossiomo? Why is the Government unable to look for solutions to the current state of Poor Electricity Distribution to Edolites or is the Governor not aware that this would improve the Security architecture of the state when properly addressed? Is this the practical Governance that the Governor promised us? How can some noise makers, clowns, musketeers and political jesters of the Governor be saying that "Edo is Shining" when the entire state is currently trapped in Darkness and engulfed with Insecurity? What has happened to continuity in the world of Governance in Edo State 🤔? Or is it now a bad idea to continue with the Good works and legacies of the Immediate past administration 🤔? Why is there no communication from the Edo State Government on this issue of Poor Power Supply 😕? Or do Edo people not deserve an explanation for this sheer inconvenience and silent ill treatment 🤔?
These fundamental questions are what is bothering the various hearts 💕 and minds of Edo People currently and it is a call to action from the Edo State Government who should stand up to its administrative responsibilities and stop sleeping because paying deal ears to the needs and Yearnings of the people is never a way to go in any sane Democratic Society of which Edo State is not an exception 😉
To this end, I hereby make a strong appeal to the Edo State Governor to as a matter of urgency look into this matter and find a solution to this problem because Edo People do not deserve to celebrate their yuletide Season under a Dark Father Xmas
