EJ Agbonayinma resigns from APC: decries Party's descent to a one-man show

By Gidigba Group

Former Member, House of Reps, Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency, has regrettably resigned from the All Progressives Congress.

In a letter dated 1st April 2026, and addressed to the Chairman, APC Ikpoba-Okha, Ward 6, the former and aspiring Rep. noted "I regret to inform you of my decision to resign my membership of the APC with immediate effect."

Agbonayinma who decried the descent of APC to a one-man show said "it is therefore simply distressing to witness the Party in our dear constituency gradually becoming the property of one or a few individuals who are unnecessarily and undemocratically interfering in the political providence of the Party in Ikpoba-Okha local government."

And as reactions continue to trail Agbonayinma's resignation, political observers say it is a sign of many more resignations to come, particularly as the Party (APC) has largely become an anathema in Nigeria's political body polity.

Whether EJ Agbonayinma will pursue his House of Reps ambition in a different Party remains unknown; however as at the time of filing in this report, his next political move hasn't been stated.
