BREAKING: Uncertainty Surrounds Reported Removal of Edo Government House CSO by Governor Okpebholo

Crusaderhotnews

BENIN CITY, EDO STATE — Reports alleging the removal of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) attached to the Edo State Government House by Governor Monday Okpebholo have sparked attention, although independent confirmation of the development is yet to emerge.

The claim, circulating under the headline “Government House CSO Kicked Out by Okpebholo,” has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the alleged decision and whether an official announcement has been made by the Edo State Government.

The development, if confirmed, would represent a significant change within the security structure of the Government House, where personnel are responsible for protecting the governor, managing access to official premises and coordinating security arrangements.

Governor Okpebholo previously ordered the redeployment of Government House security personnel in July 2025 following an incident in which journalists and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were denied access to the premises during celebrations of his Supreme Court victory.

At the time, the governor ordered an investigation into the incident and said those found responsible would face appropriate disciplinary action, according to a report by crusaderhotnews.

However, it remains unclear whether the latest claim relates to a new disciplinary action, a redeployment, or a separate development involving the CSO.

As of the time of writing, no independently verified official statement confirming the CSO's dismissal has been established.

Further details are needed to clarify the identity of the officer involved, the reasons for the alleged removal and whether a replacement has been appointed.

This report will be updated as more verified information becomes available.
