Commends Monarch’s Decade of Cultural Preservation, Peace and Royal Leadership
BENIN CITY, EDO STATE — The CrusaderHotNews has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, CFR, the Oba of Benin, on the 10th anniversary of his coronation, describing the milestone as a remarkable celebration of tradition, heritage and the enduring institution of the Benin monarchy.
The anniversary marks ten years since Oba Ewuare II ascended the ancient throne on October 20, 2016, as the 40th Oba of Benin Kingdom.
His decade-long reign has continued to draw attention to the rich cultural heritage, historical significance and global identity of the Benin people.
The CrusaderHotNews recognises the importance of the monarch's role in preserving the customs, values and traditions of one of Africa's most historic kingdoms.
His reign has also provided renewed opportunities to showcase Benin culture, strengthen the kingdom's identity and promote its heritage to younger generations and the international community.
One of the notable issues associated with the monarch's reign is the campaign for the return of Benin artefacts looted during the 1897 British invasion.
The continued return of these treasured objects represents an important step towards restoring the kingdom's cultural heritage and reconnecting future generations with their history.
The 10th coronation anniversary has also provided an opportunity for cultural displays, traditional gatherings and other activities celebrating the history and achievements of the Benin Kingdom.
These celebrations underline the importance of traditional institutions in promoting cultural continuity, community identity and unity.
The CrusaderHotNews believes that the milestone offers an opportunity to reflect on the responsibilities of traditional leadership in a changing society.
Beyond the splendour of the royal throne, the institution of the Oba remains a significant symbol of ancestral heritage, communal values and the historical continuity of the Edo people.
As the Benin Kingdom celebrates this historic occasion, The CrusaderHotNews joins the people of Edo State, Benin sons and daughters at home and abroad, as well as admirers of the kingdom's rich heritage, in extending heartfelt congratulations to the revered monarch.
The publication wishes Oba Ewuare II continued wisdom, strength, good health and a peaceful reign as he continues to uphold the dignity of the Benin throne and preserve the cultural legacy of his forebears.
Long live His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II!
Long live the Benin Kingdom!
Long live the rich cultural heritage of the Edo people!
