The leadership of Obaseki Volunteer Network, OVN, has met with Edo state Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Barr Anselm Ojezua to officially declare their support for Governor Godwin Obaseki’s re-election.

Comrade Solomon Okoduwa, the Coordinator of OVN led other officials to the APC chairman on Tuesday where issues bordering mobilization of APC members and other citizens ahead of the gubernatorial polls were highlighted.

Okoduwa who doubles as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obaseki on Anti Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration said, “Having been convinced of the current administration’s effort in making sure that Edo takes the lead role in the scheme of things, we need to intimate you (Barr Ojezua) of our existence and what we stand for, so that we do not deviate from the party’s structure which is very key.”

"We are ready to take the good work of the current government to every nook and cranny of the state so that those in doubt will be convinced to join the moving progressive train as quick as possible".

In his response, Barr Ojezua commended his guests for their political consciousness and strong desire to support the governor’s second term bid.
He assured that Governor Godwin Obaseki is capable of attracting over one million votes in the governorship election.

The APC chairman who expressed optimism over the way and manner the members of OVN are carrying out the solidarity, said “Edo is very lucky to have Obaseki at helm of affairs, according to him, “Obaseki is performing more than expected.

He maintained that the springing up of OVN was very timely.

"We must all support the good work of the governor. When you support the governor unknown to you, that you are supporting the APC, and that is our position as a political party".

"As a solidarity group, your duties is to compliment what we are doing. You people have wider scope more than us, because you can reach out to both the party members and non party members".

He urged the group to focus more on small medium business owners, who he said should be integrated into OVN. “Because they are the ones expanding the economy, he stated.

"We have over two million voters in Edo. We have not been able to hit one million votes from record of past election. We want to hit more than one million votes for Obaseki and with groups such as this OVN, we are sure of one million votes.
