The O2 campaign team unveiled their long lasting solution to traders in the state, as they took their campaign to the three geopolitical zones of the state. They promised a robust relationship with traders and shop owners.
Speaking at the event, the publicity and media aide of the O2 campaign Mr Omobude, promised the traders and shop owners that indeed succor has come and that the O2 will not be double standard; in the sense of claiming tuo eradicate street trading and yet also tax street traders, he called that a double standard and social injustice and pure proof of insensitivity and insincerity.
He promised that O2 was ready to give tax wavers and as well provision of a free trade zone as well as citing truly existent industrial layout and new markets to cater for those who had no shops in the already existing markets .
Also at the event Mr Louis promised the traders that O2 already had a blueprint for governance and implementation would kickstart in 24 hours of assumption office and there would be institution of market boards that would across the 18 local government areas and would be saddled with the responsibility of market maintenance and sanitation; indeed the market would wear new looks and there was stiff penalties for offenders and the issue of engaging thugs and street urchins as contractors for revenue and enforcement would be a thing of the past.
Market leaders lauded the O2 team for their resolve to “dry the tears of the traders in the state, indeed they were tired of been molested by agents of Government “ and as well said “they were tired of watching the government politicize the positions of market heads and paying lip service to their aspirations, and decried the sorry state of major markets and sanitation problems” .
Dignitaries at the event include the director of skill acquisition; Engr (Mrs) onose Mudiaga, market heads , CYCN heads across the 18 LGAs, youth party members.
