A coalition of Libya returnees in Edo State has congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki for the recent award bestowed on him as the best performing governor in Nigeria by the national body of Nigeria Union of Teachers.
The group also endorsed the governor for his second term bid.
A statement by Comrade Solomon Okoduwa, the coordinator of the coalition, said the award was apt and well-deserved.
Okoduwa who said the teachers were right in their decision noted that the award was a reflection of the governor’s goodwill and performance in the education sector.
According to the statement, “His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki has transformed the education sector. The governor has made the public school system work again. Many parents now withdraw their children and wards from private schools to public schools as result of the transformation of the governor in the sector.
“We want to congratulate you for the successes made so far in the education sector and the subsequent award bequeathed to you by the Nigeria Union of Teachers”
They said they backed the governor for his reelection bid following his people oriented policies initiated by the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
“Your good work in the state has earned you the nickname ‘Wake and See Governor. We are in support of you and we are in support of your reelection.
