The Ikpoba-Okha Local Government has distributed relief materials to members of communities recently affected by flood in the LGA
Recall that a few days ago, the Osayande-led administration took delivery of relief materials from the Edo State Government after which the Local Government announced plans to distribute to affected communities in the locality
Distributing the items to victims on Friday, members of communities from across the LGA were on ground for accreditation, followed by delivery
Ugbekun, Oregbeni, Ogiso, Ikpe, Obe, Evbuabogun, Ohoghobi, Ivbiotor, Evboriaria amongst other communities received relief materials on Friday which consists of eatable products ranging from rice, beans, garri, indomie, groundnut and vegetable oil
Distributing the items to beneficiaries, Chairman, Ikpoba-Okha Relief Programme Against Flooding, an offshoot of the Local Government Emergency Management Agency, Hon. Kingsley Balogban thanked the Edo State Government for her prompt intervention; stating that the government is committed to fighting the menace of flood in Edo State
Balogban said “we are grateful for the Governor Godwin Obaseki interventionist approach towards reaching out to victims of flood in recent past, with this and many other conscious efforts of the government, we are convinced that the fight against flooding in Edo State is focus-driven”
Hon. Kingsley Balogban also represented the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande at the programme
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Major Ikilo Amayaenvbo of St. Saviour and Elder Alexander Uhunangho, Ward 7 hailed the Edo State Government and the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government for reaching out to victims of the natural disaster in communities across the LGA
Major Ikilo (rtd), however appealed to the Governor Godwin Obaseki to continue to commit huge resources to the construction of St. Saviour road while giving the Osayande-led administration pass mark in its pro-people policies
Present at the distribution ground were the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Hon. Kingsley Balogban, Secretary to the Local Government, Barr. Osagie Igbinomwanhia, Director of Administrative and General Services, Mr. Frank Osa-Idahosa, NULGE Secretary, Ikpoba-Okha, LGA, Mrs Jossy Duze, Head, department of Socials, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Mrs. Jane Osahon
Traditional rulers, youths, women and members of affected communities from across the LGA were also at the event
