The leadership of Obaseki/ Shaibu Movement (OSM) has challenged the proscribed group known as EPM to prove that they are innocent of claims that they were behind the surge in fire outbreaks in the state.
OSM has accused the group that is known for flouting Government directives and operating illegally for sponsoring attacks at various market places only with the aim of discrediting the Governor Obaseki led government.
Members of the public have also lent their voice to the issue as it was gathered that indigenes in the state has called the EPM Group to caution, advising them not to take their desperation too far.
According to a stall owner at Ekiosa market, Mrs Janet Irabor, “We know who are behind this fire incidents. How can there be two fire outbreaks at our markets in less than a week? We know some selfish politicians and godfathers do not like Governor Obaseki but they should stop attacking and destroying our shops to get at him. Moreover the governor has done a lot for us. They should leave him and our Edo alone.”
OSM as a body says all fingers point to the EPM as the reason behind all the recent fire outbreaks but firmly warned them to desist from the act, as the long arm of the law will soon catch up with them.
