_...as Senator Domingo insists Governor Obaseki’s re-election is non negotiable for his uncommon leadership style_

Members of the Obaseki/ Shaibu Movement (OSM) in diaspora has joined in commending the Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration for the many achievements in his administrations in such a short period. The body recently stated that Governor Godwin Obaseki’s inclusion of competent youths in his administration is a departure from the outdated and anti-development political compensational era that took true dividends of democracy away from the reach of the common man. The body insisted that the Governor Obaseki’s style should be emulated by other states in Nigeria and the federal level if they truly want to focus on development of their respective states or the country at large.
Prince Victor Oyakhilomen, also known as Vicky Larg, who is the diaspora coordinator and initiator of the Obaseki/ Shaibu Movement (OSM), made the assertion in a telephone interview with newsmen.
Vicky Larg said that the recent appointment of Hon. Richard Edebiri as the Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources and many others remained a step that had, and will definitely fast-track the rapid developmental strides that the governor was currently embarking on in the state.
He also commended Governor Obaseki for giving opportunities to young technocrats to bring on fresh and new world ideas in the governance of the state. He noted that the appointment of Edo’s youngest appointee and multiple national award winning youth, Ikponmwosa Osamede as Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media was a testament to the Governor’s interest in modeling and nurturing Edo’s youths for better tomorrow prospects.
According to him, “Governor Obaseki has brought pro - people reforms such as the paradigm shift from the medieval political compensational era where political appointments were totally left in the hands of the old cronies in our society whose only interests were personal enrichment.
“We in the diaspora are happy to learn about the appointment of Richard Edebiri as an honorable commissioner and the very young Ikponmwosa Osamede as a Senior Special Assistant in his administration. Governor Godwin Obaseki’s style of governance is unique and the rare decision to appoint this vibrant and competent youths into his cabinet is commendable and a dream come true for me, as that is the way for a better Edo and Nigeria,’’ he told newsmen.
Victor Oyakhilomen also used the opportunity to wish the good people of Edo State a prosperous New Year. He also thanked them for their continuous support for the Governor Obaseki and Rt. Hon. Phillip Shaibu led administration.
Also, Senator Domingo Bende, a strong supporter of Governor Obaseki who also spoke to newsmen eulogized Governor Obaseki’s master stroke performance in Edo State as he stated that the good works done by the Governor in just three years surpasses all the work done by previous administrations in their full 8 years two terms.
According to him, “What is happening in Edo is worthy of emulation and should be replicated at the Federal Level as the Governor’s unique style of governance has placed priority in giving the youths a chance in the political arena. If you look at how the Governor has brought reforms in land acquisition and the civil service, you’ll understand why many people including myself have resolved that the Governor’s re-election is non negotiable”.
He also use the medium to pray for God’s wisdom and knowledge for Obaseki and Shaibu as he takes Edo to greater heights in the new year.
