The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande has directed traders of food items and pharmacies in the LGA to cut down on the prices of their commodities; this is as the novel #CORONAVIRUS continue to have its toll on human and material resources

Chairman Osayande passed the directive on Friday 27 March, 2020 during a visit to some markets to check traders' level of compliance to the stay-at-home order by the Edo State Government

The Council Chairman has also visited some pharmacies in the locality to ascertain their mode of operations in the face of the dreaded COVID-19

Speaking at Ekiomwenigho Market, Osayande urged traders of food commodities to reduce the price of their wares as "it will only be wicked to skyrocket prices at this time of great difficulty"

A similar directive has equally been passed to pharmacuetical operators in the locality to maintain a reduced price of commodities

Osayande said "at a time like this, when limited resources becomes overstretched, the noble thing to do as medical experts is to reduce the price of services and commodities so that Ikpoba-Okha people who are also feeling the heat of hard times can measure up in the purchase of goods and services"

"I implore you to cut down on your prices as this is not the time for profit making, rather it is the most appropriate period to save lives" Osayande added

Recall that the Osayande-led administration has created emergency response zones in the Iwogban, Ugbekun and Ogheghe health centres to curb the possible spread of the pandemic in the area; the Council has equally released emergency call lines for the report of cases that may arise in the LGA 07033120839, 08058773016 and 07064932685
