OREDO COUNCIL BOSS LEADS TEAM TO ENFORCE STAY AT HOME ORDER.

For the third day running, Oredo Council Chairman, Hon Evbareke Jenkins Osunde has led members of the the Local Government Taskforce Committee on  COVID 19 to the major streets in Benin to enforce the stay at home order as well as the social distancing policy as directed by the State Government.

The Chairman who was joined by the State Volunteers Force,popularly known as Public Works Volunteers  PUWOV, led by Muktari Osagie, the Vice Chairman of the Council,Hon Belinda Ogiefa, Secretary to the Local Local Govt, Hon Raymond Olaye, Head of Local Govt Administration, Dr Osaheni Igbinigie, the Leader of the Legislative Arm and Councillors as well as Heads of of various Departments, visited Mission Road, Forestry Road , Akpakpava Road, Agbado Market, up to Dawson Road and environs, to sensitise the people on the need to obey Government instruction to stay at home till further notice, as a way of curtailing the spread of the Coronavirus and to also maintain social distances.

Addressing traders at Agbado market, the Chairman frowned at the attitude of the traders who defied Govt directives to stay at home, as a way of curtailing the dreaded virus.

According to the Council Boss,only those who sell food items, essential commodities and medicines are allowed to open for business and come to the market for now.

Also enforced is the new order of public transportation.

 Taxi cabs are only allowed to carry four passengers while buses are to carry not more than six passengers including the drivers.

The enforcement according to the Chairman is expected to continue next week.
