As Council Boss leads team to markets and Parks to Sensitize and Distribute disinfectants to Curtail the spread of the virus in the Local Government Area............* Furtherance of the activities of the Local Government taskforce team on COVID-19 in the Local Government Area.
Honorable Scott Ogbemudia, Chairman North East Local Government Area, today led members of the taskforce team to markets and parks in the Local Government to distribute disinfectant as part of the responsibility of the taskforce in curtailing the spread of the virus.
Addressing traders, Ogbemudia berates the non compliance to the State Government directives on the closure of markets, with only sellers of food items, medicines and other vital commodities allowed to operate; ban on gatherings of more than 20 persons; strict seating guidelines in public buses.
He however, urged residents to adhere to the precautionary measures and hygienic practices against the spread of the virus, by observing the social distance, washing of hands regularly with soap under running water and use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers; covering of mouth and nose properly with tissue paper when sneezing and/or coughing and and should be disposed immediately, and absence of tissue papers such person should cough into his or her elbow.
He noted. Members of the taskforce who were with the Chairman includes the Primary Healthcare Coordinator Dr Isoken Who Serve as the Secretary of the taskforce, Nosakhare Eguagie Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Media, Special Assistant to the Governor from Okada West, Head of Environmental Department, amongst others.
