Members of the legislative arm of Oredo Local Government Council have reaffirmed their confidence in the leadership of Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde as the Chairman of the LGA. The Councilors from the various wards of the local government area expressed their admiration for the efforts of the Chairman during a solidarity visit to Hon. Osunde on Tuesday.
The Councilors urged those it described as ‘’ enemies’’ of the council not to contaminate the LGC’s mission of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
According to the leader of the legislative arm of the Council, Hon. Jeffery Ewansiha , the Councilors were solidly standing with Hon. Osunde in the ‘’ efforts to implement the progressive agenda envisioned by Mr. Godwin Obaseki’’.
Hon. Ewansiha noted that a section of the media and the public had engaged in ‘’ sensational exaggeration ‘’of some recent issues of contention between the LGA chairman and the councilors. Hon. Ewansiha specifically stated that some of the allegations ascribed to the councilors against the Chairman were the’’ outright creation of mischief makers ‘’who were intent on creating crisis in Oredo Local Government Area.
The Legislative leader concluded that the various areas of ‘’misunderstanding and miscommunication ‘’ between the chairman and the councilors have been cleared and the disagreement consequently resolved.
The Councilors therefore have no " further reason to conduct the advertised special session of the legislature’’ which was fixed for Thursday, Hon. Ewansiha observed.
The Legislative leader concluded that the vision of a " people-oriented democracy under the leadership of Hon.Osunde with the overall inspiration of Governor Obaseki will not be derailed as being viciously rumored by the enemies of our council "
