Edo High Court sentenced a 28 year old woman to Jail.

A Benin high court today sentenced a 28 year old woman miss Vivian Francis to one year in custody
of the Nigerian custodial Correctional Centre with an option of fine to the sum of one hundred and twenty five thousand naira for human trafficking.

aka Venza earlier this year recruited three girls between ages 15 and 18 from Cross river state to Benin city under the guise of working in her large restaurant.

However, upon being settled in, the girls were forced into prostitution, following which all three girls planned and escaped from her custody at night and were found by members of the federal road safety corp.


The Naptip zonal commander in charge of Edo, delta and bayelsa states Mrs Ijeoma Uduack who speak to Osunde  Osaigbovo Massy Galaxy  Tv that the convict was sentenced under section 13 of the Naptip Act added that the command was not relenting on its drive to address its mandate even under the current global pandemic.

On her part, the convict miss francis said she regretted her actions urging others not to indulge in such practice.

Miss Vivian Francis was convicted in Edo state high court three criminal division precided over by Justice Isoken Erameh
