The Peoples Democratic Party and indigents of Ozalla Ward 1 Owan West LGA were thrown in jubilant mode as Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Strategic Planning and Program Management Dr. Mrs Uyi Oduwa-Malaka officially dumped the All Progressives Congress and picked up membership card of the Peoples Democratic Party along with hundreds of supporters.
The ceremony attracted Excos of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ozalla Ward 1 and other wards of Owan West who did not mince words to express their feelings of the new gains the Peoples Democratic Party have received in the last few weeks.
Chairman of the PDP in Ozalla Ward Hon. Godwin Ajayi while reacting said it was a political gain that will change the political equation of the Local Government as Mrs. Uyi Malaka-Oduwa's contribution to developmental politics in the local government was enviable.
He said the crisis in the APC was divine and that the Peoples Democratic Party are happy to be a beneficiary.
A leader of PDP in the ward Hon. Pastor Ojeikere Ikhide while reacting also said "it is time for the PDP to make shakara as a woman of virtue who have contributed immensely in human capital and infrastructural development in Owan has now joined our political party the PDP"
Mrs Uyi Oduwa-Malaka while appreciating the leaders and executives of the PDP assured them that developmental strides of this administration both in infrastructure and human capital development will continue to be attracted to the people of Owan.
Present at the event were the PDP Ward Chairman Hon. Godwin Ajayi, Leader of the ward Hon. Pastor Ojeikere Ikhide, LGA Auditor Hon. Aisien Lucky, Ward Secretary Hon. Okojie Friday, Special Assistant to the Governor in Ward 1 Hon. Oley Friday, Ward Youth Leader Albomi Ahiodun, Ward Public Relations Officer Hon. Adeola Lucky, Woman Leader Ikharevba Felicia, LGA youth leader Coker Monday, Hon Obasan Aigboviose, Hon. Ogbaide Bose to mention but a few.
Chief Dr. Felix Lawani who represented the Lawani family also picked up his PDP membership card and said it natural that Ozalla community will follow their daughter to the new party in continuous support of this administration.
