In the words of Mike Pence who quoted from the Bible, I admonish my APC brothers... " for everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven... a time to heal... a time to build up. That time is now! " ... time for us to come together... this is a time for unity and not divisiveness.

Governor Obaseki and PDP are desirous of a state that is prosperous, peaceful, united, secure and healthy. Our policies are geared towards achieving these five cardinal points that form the bedrock of our manifesto MEGA...Making Edo Great Again!

Elections were decisively concluded on September 19, 2019 and a worthy winner was declared.

You were within your legal rights to challenge the result but you were wise to the fact that you lost in a free, fair and transparent elections.

Knowing that you couldn't successfully challenge the outcome of the polls in the election petition tribunal, you decided to challenge the eligibility of Governor Obaseki using a strategy that was at best lame and preposterous.

It failed woefully !

Going forward my brothers and sisters is why I write today!

Human and political interaction is not only regulated by the constitution or electoral act, but also by morals. The morality of a political party trying to govern a people that decisively rejected them at the polls is condemnable and unacceptable. One must know when to stop and move on!

I understand that it may be a strategy to try and keep your few remaining members with a generous dose of the currency of politicians, called Hope, but when you continue to deceive them, telling them that your case is strong and that the FG has assured you and the courts are playing a predefined script, your morality is called to question.

It is immoral to say that the governor is not qualified to contest when you know he is eminently qualified and even the courts have affirmed it.

Our election circle is off-season in Edo. It is seriously affecting our commerce, industry and economy. Many of our youths are distracted as Edo is technically in election mode every twenty-four months. No sooner is the general election concluded, that we start to focus on the governorship. And vice-versa! This unusual circle creates instability that is killing and negatively affecting the development of Human Resources in our polity. Of course, prolonged unnecessary court cases contribute to the damage created! It is immoral for our “personal businesses” to thrive  at the detriment of the foot soldiers we call to action every 24months without adequately catering for their future through skill acquisition and training . It is Immoral!

This PDP administration wants to break this circle of temporary jobs for the boys hence Governor Obaseki for the first time in over 25 years is filling up the over 2000 vacancies in the the state civil service so our youths, our citizens can have a job for life! Similar vacancies exist in other MDAs and PPP that have been attracted to Edo state under the Governor Obaseki administration.

“for everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven... a time to heal... a time to build up. That time is now! " ... time for us to come together... this is a time for unity and not divisiveness.

Politicians are not desperate, our morality must never be called to question!

Signed
