Today 22/6/2021 at about 2120 hours, operatives of Edo state police command attached to Ehor Division while on routine patrol at Ugha axis, in Uhunmwonde Local Government area of Edo State responded to a distress call that hoodlums have blocked Benin-Auchi road by Okhuo Hill with barricades and waiting for upcoming vehicles to Rob and kidnap travelers.
On receipt of the information, the DPO in charge of Ehor Division swung into action by drafting tactical teams to the area.
The hoodlums on sighting the Police engaged them in a gun duel, the Police successfully repelled them.
On the process, one of the hoodlums was neutralize, one locally single barrel gun, seven (7) live cartridges and button Tecno phone was recovered at the scene.
Effort is in top gear to arrest other gang members who escaped with bullet wounds.
To this end, the Commissioner of Police Edo State Command, CP Phillip Aliyu Ogbadu reiterates his commitment in making Edo State a crime free State.
He implores the good people of Edo State and general public to continue to give credible information that will lead to the arrest of criminals in the State.
