The Edo state House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun has been decorated with an Award of Excellence on Saturday, 19th June 2021 at St. John’s Anglican church, Ekpoma, the Esan West region of the state.
The award was presented to him by the Esan Anglican Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Reverend Gabriel Oseikhuenmen at the ceremony of the First session of the Seventh Synod.
Presenting the award, Bishop Oseikhuenmen said the award was in recognition of Mr. Speaker’s outstanding selfless service and immense contribution to the physical and spiritual development of the church of God.
He lauded Hon. Onobun for the infrastructural projects he has attracted to his community and encouraged him not to relent in his developmental strides.
Acknowledging the Award, Mr. Speaker expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be honoured in his local denomination.
He said the award was a motivation to fuel his eagerness to demonstrate his roles and duties for the betterment of Edo people.
“I wholeheartedly appreciate this award, I thank the Esan Diocese for deeming it fit to recognise one of their own.
As an Anglican, the message from the Bishop has encouraged me to go out there and make our society better.” He said.
Hon. Onobun congratulated the Bishop of Esan Diocese for the successful First session of the Seventh Synod Ceremony which commenced on Thursday 17th of June, 2021.
