Ex- International in Edo State have thrown their full weights behind the newly appointed interim head coach of the Super Eagles Austin Eguavoen.

Speaking to journalists in  Benin after a friendly football  match organized by Edo State All Stars to mark the end of football activities for the year 2021, former Nigerian International Isaac Semitoje, expressed gratitude to God and the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF President  Amaju Pinnick, and his team for appointing Austin Eguavoen as the interim manager of the Super Eagles.

He commended the NFF President for his leadership qualities, calling on all Nigerian ex- International to support the new Super head coach.

He however fran at the division, rancor and disunity that has existed among former Nigerian lnternationals, adding that it is time they put there differences aside and together to make Nigeria Nigeria football great again.

"I'm very happy to be home once again, Benin-City is my home, this is where I grew up and made my name in football.  So I thank God for travelling mercies back to Nigeria.

Today is a big day for all us because is an opportunity to meet with old friends,  particularly my former teammates at the club side and also in the Nigeria National team. We can see the array of Ex- National team players here. We just played  a novelty game put together by Edo All Stats and we are all happy to be together once again to me it is fun."

'"I feel very happy for my brother, friend and former colleague at the National team Austin Eguavoen, for his appointment as Super Eagles interim manager. Austin Eguavoen is an experienced person, he has paid his dues in Nigeria football circle. I think the NNF made the  right decision by appointing an indigenous coach to lead  the Super Eagles to the Nations Cup."

"We are praying for him to succeed because the Nigeria system cannot really be  predicted. He should be supported by all so that he can succeed in this uphill task."

"In Nigeria, our local coaches have all it takes to put Niger back into the world football calendar some of these so called foreigners that have been coming to Nigeria lately have killed our football, they depended so much on already made players, while our  local league players are rusting away."

"Now that Austin Eguavoen, has been saddled with the responsibility of handling the National, it is our duty to rally round him and give him the necessary support so that he can succeed in this new task.

I'm not also happen with the level of disunity, mistrust, bitterness, rancor jealousy that existed among Nigerian coaches and Ex- Internationals, I here there are different factions in the union, it shouldn't be so, people should think of how to help NFF build the round leather game not destroy ing one another.

We must come together to move the game of football forward," he said.
