He is His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki
He is a great Man and the best gift to Edo people. You know why? Because he is not out here to impress the haters, the liars, and the propagandists but Edo People who gave him the mantle of leadership.
Obaseki, based on his global experiences has played a different kind of politics that have pave way for a common man to have a voice and that's why people are freely speaking for and against him without having a negative implication.
His modern approach to political issues has set many aggrieved and many in hates. He is not a Money bag politician but can make you grow your own money, he is not a destructive politician but a constructive one based on his policies, programs and procedures.
Obaseki pictures politics differently citing from his Western ideology and governance. He has met and made enemies out of it but still much focused on his ideology because he believes it will work and surely it will.
Politicians fight him not because he is not working but because he doesn't believe in their old ways.
To Obaseki, political appointments should be given to those who can add value and not for bench warmers, appointments to him must be earned by merits and experience and not by compensation to enrich anyone.
He has studied closely the old order and discovered the damages it has done to the growth and development of our nation.
Imagine a country that boasts almost 60years of existence still cannot compete with developed nations who are not even up to 30 years in existence.
This is because our old political order have not changed. The style we play today has been the style we inherited since our country got her independence. Obaseki, being a Technocrat is not a mere word or statement but a true state of his abilities to make the possible change we need to transform not just Edo State but the Nation at large.
In terms of growth and infrastructural development, he has set a good standard and that's why we must continue to commend, applaud and encourage him. He is not building for Just today but also for the future.
The development of Rome wasn't a plan executed in just a government but successive governments in Rome.
It's true he's made promises but he didn't state that his promises will be realistic with him and thus the reason he came up with a 30 year development plan that will result to the Edo of our dream.
When Obaseki plans, when he says he will, he would, he is set to, and all of it, it means he is setting a pace for successive administration to follow. In his style, he believes that we must first think on impacting in humans.
Only on this can we celebrate a sustainable development. Infrastructures are not existing on itself but can only be maintained by humans who make use of them.
Obaseki is seriously building for the future. I am not stating so because I am a staunch supporter but because I have witnessed in countless times, the positive impact of his administration on the common man living in Edo. He has set a good record, he has trained so many technocrats, he has built infrastructures and he's still building.
Those who have been positively affected in his administration do not have strong social media presence to speak about him. It can equally be equated to those who vote in elections. Over 80% eligible voters in Edo state do not operate the internet. There are still some amounts of persons in the 20% social media presence that are much aware of the impacts of his administration. Some speak about it, some don't, some who knows about it has voluntarily kept shut and display high level of ignorance just to discredit the Governor on grievous reasons.
Obaseki's administrative policies is the reasons Edo State has become a strong attraction for both foreign and local investors and industries are gradually springing up. Edo people should be proud of Governor Obaseki cause he means well and stands out. We should queue behind him, pray for him and support him to build Edo to Standard.
People hate him, fight him and try to stop him because he's a good man that is honestly building an Edo that works for you and I. Obaseki remains the HERO of our Modern Politics.
