SECURITY CHALLENGE: Edo Poised to Rejig Security Architecture, says Shaibu

As part of strategic plans to guarantee the safety of lives and property, Edo State Government has perfected measures to re-organize the security architecture of the State, to ensure a holistic approach to security challenge.

The State Acting

 Governor,Rt.Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, made the disclosure  at a meeting with stakeholders,on the security situation in the State, at the Government House, Benin City.

The stakeholders security meeting had in attendance, traditional rulers, Heads of Local Government Administration, HOLGAN , Heads of vigilantee groups,as well as representatives of the Edo  Hunters Associations and Civil Commissioners in the State. 

Addressing journalists  shortly after the meeting, the Acting Governor stated that:" the relevant stakeholders in the security system have resolved to take a holistic approach towards addressing the present security challenge in Edo State".

Also speaking, Edo State Commissioner of police,Compol Abutu Yaro, stated that "the meeting was to create new thinking as a means of  enhancing the security architecture of the State".

Some first class  traditional rulers present at the meeting said they would go back to their various local governments ,to activate and effect  the resolutions reached.

The security stakeholders meeting was called to address, among other issues, the recent kidnap of some  Catholic Priests in some parts of the state which the state government described as worrisome.
