The Honourable Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon .Chris Nehikhare has assured Edo residents of the State Government’s commitment towards making Edo State uncomfortable for kidnappers or bandits.
The Commissioner gave this assurance in a press conference with newsmen at the Ministry while giving updates on the recent kidnap cases in the State.
According to the Commissioner, the recently adopted Magistrate has been released after a great job by the State Police Officers and though a police officer died , it was due to natural causes and not due to any bullet injury or death at the scene as alleged on social media . He also reiterated the need for news men to wait for official briefing to get accurate information than rely on socio media or other sources.
Hon Nehikhare went further to inform the house that the State Government led by the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, along with other State Security Chiefs Consisting of commissioner of police, DSS and the Airforce paid a courtesy visit to the family of the deceased officer, late D.S.P Adam Micheal from Bayelsa State who was married with two kids, and was attached to the anti-Kidnapping Squad.
The Commissioner also gave an update on the Igueben Train Station Kidnap, saying that he was glad to announce that two more hostages had been rescued and that the operation was still ongoing.
Hon Nehikhare also commended the efforts of the State Police, Airforce ,Army, Vigilante Network and the hunters for the wonderful work they are doing in ensuring Edo is safe.
