BENIN CITY- The Odionwere of Amagba village in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, Pa Joseph Iduoriyekemwen, has condemned in totality the recent media reports said to be authored by G Oaikhena & Co, on behalf of the enogie, HRH                          Imadonmwinyin and people of Obagie Nevbosa Village in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state, alleging that Amagba people invaded their land in the boundary which stretches to Ago Emokpae now known as Okoroma Camp and erected a sign post.

He described all the allegations levelled against him and his people as naive, spurious and lacked merits, especially in view of the facts that the matter has hitherto been resolved by HRM Oba Ewuare 11 CFR.

Pa Iduoriyekemwen said that there was never a time he ordered his people to invade the neighbouring Obagie Nevbosa, let alone given instruction to erect a sign post on the boundary Okoroma Camp, pointing out that Amagba village has been existing before Obagie Nevbosa and that there had been over eight camps inclusive Okoroma Camp which are under the control by Amagba, saying the enogie and his people are merely pursuing shadow to gain sympathy where there is none.

He said that for record, Okoroma Camp is also known as Ago Emokpae and the other camps include Ago court, Ago ogbeide, Ago iyebe and others , adding that the case which their counsel claimed to be in court had long been withdrawn on the order of the Benin Monarch, HRM Oba Ewuare 11 CFR when the monarch intervened to end the controversies surrounding the ownership of the boundary camp and wondered why such matter could resurface after resolution.

The village head noted that while the Oba was giving resolution on the matter, warned that Obagie Nevbosa should not lay claim of ownership to the Ago Emokpae now known as Okoroma Camp and that it is a camp in Amagba village, a resolution which further reaffirmed the earlier resolutions of Oba Akenzua 11 CFR and Oba Erediauwa CFR respectively.

But corroborating the Odionwere, Mr Monday Iduoriyekemwen, Mr Michael Uzzi and the chairman, Mr Peter Erinmwinose, argued that Ago Emokpae now known as Okoroma Camp has always been in Amagba village, citing instances Oba Akenzua 11 CFR and Oba Erediauwa CFR gave the village the nod to oversee the affairs of the camp among others, saying there is distinctive Amagba Akengbuda and Amagba Adolor which house the Ago Emokpae (Okoroma ).

They promised to make available all the necessary documents to buttress their claim of ownership and wondered why Obagie Nevbosa which came into existence after Amagba village could lay claim of ownership to that effect.

The Odionwere and elders of Amagba village appealed to the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, to see their petition purportedly doctored by the enogie and people of Obagie Nevbosa as a wasted paper which cannot be taken seriously for their selfish interest.

They explained that the new enogie might have not been properly briefed about the true position of the matter, because his people are circumvent the facts of the matter to attract sympathy in order to pave the way for them to invade Amagba territory to actualise their clandestine motives on land grabbing, insisting that if they feel uncomfortable, they should channel their case back to the palace of the Oba to seek redress rather than reawakening an already concluded case to the extent that matter was withdrawn from the court
