The leadership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Nuj, Edo state council led by the state chairman comrade festus Alenkhe yesterday paid a courtesy call on the vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, UNIBEN, Prof Lilian Imuetinyan Salami, at her Ugbowo office in Benin.
The VC who was on hand to receive the Alenkhe team commended the council for the professional reformation carried out in the Journalism profession in line with global practice and similarly expressed her overwhelming support, and continuous cordial relationship with the Council.
She highlighted and commended the NUJ Council on achievements recorded within the short period in office and also expressed her delight about the adherence to the ethics of balancing of reports by Journalists in the State which she said has led to bringing out the full potentials to bear in the journalism profession.
"The stories are always weighed on both sides. I want to most sincerely commend you, as for me that's real journalism, where you must hear on both side of the story..." She reteirated.
Earlier, The Chairman Edo NUJ, Festus Alenkhe articulated Prof Salami's vision, achievable goals to capacity building and flare towards sustainability.
Alenkhe intensify his cooperation shared by the Vice Chancellor to the Union which includes the financial support (Pallatives), infrastructive connectivity and digital transformation made by her administration.
Also present during the visit were: Prof Catherine U. Ukponmwan DVC Admin. UNIBEN; Prof Luke Obasuyi, Librarian UNIBEN.
The highest of the visit was the signing of visitor's book, exchange of gifts and a photo session.
