A journalist with the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Zamfara State chapter Hamisu Danjibga has been confirmed dead after he was kidnapped last Saturday night.
A statarment signed by Ibrahim Ahmad, the Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Zamfara State council has called on security agencies to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the kidnap and eventual assisination of the journalist.
The body of Hamisu was reportedly found three days after he was missing, then package in a bag and subsequently dumped in a hole behind his house in Gusau, the state capital.
The discovery of the corpse was due to the disturbing odor observed by some pupils of an Islamic school Wednesday night.
