Osayande flags-off environmental clean-up in Ikpoba-Okha LGA

True to his administration's policy on clean, safe and healthy environment, the Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande on Monday flagged-off the clean-up of environment in the locality. 


Osayande, alongside his Vice, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, Councilors of Wards 1, 4, 6, 7 and 8 were physically present at the Ogheghe, Sapele Road clean-up. 


Head of Local Government Administration, Ikpoba-Okha, (HOLGA), Mr. Kensington Osifo, Chief Administrative Officer, Ikpoba-Okha, Pst. Jossy Duze, Head of Environment, Ikpoba-Okha, Mrs. Caroline Owegie and operatives of the Department of Environment of the Council were also present at the clean-up. 


Amid the clean-up, Osayande inspected facilities at the Ogheghe Health Center, and some earth roads, noting that his administration will continue to support public facilities for effective service delivery. 


Osayande also paid a courtesy call on Ogheghe residents and market women to reiterate his commitment to improved environmental policies. 


He noted that the clean-up, which commenced on Monday at Ogheghe Community, Ward 9, Ikpoba-Okha, is programmed to extend to other areas deserving attention. 


Osayande named Ramat Park, St. Saviour, Oka Market, Pipeline Road, Ohovbe, Ologbo, amongst other areas to benefit from the continuous clean-up exercise. 


Recall that upon taking over as Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, September 4, Dr. Eric Osayande directed the immediate deployment of men and materials to Ogheghe for clean-up. 


The Council boss has said his administration will leave no stone unturned in the provision of safe, healthy and clean environment for Ikpoba-Okha residents. 


"We will continue to develop effective policies and programmes to ensure that residents enjoy safe, clean and healthy environment; this is a critical aspect of our policy and this we must continually do", he said.
