*_...urges committee to apply civility, professionalism in operations_*

The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande on Monday inaugurated the committee on environment; charging the committee to apply civility and human face in its operations.
The committee, mandated to propel effective environmental sanitation and clean-up exercise in the locality, forms part of the Osayande-led administration's policy on clean, safe and healthy environment in the locality.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Chairman, represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen noted that, "the committee is one of the most important committees in Council and and as such must be managed with civility, professionalism and human face"; Idehen charged the committee to "regularly report to the Council where and when necessary." She sued for high-level professionalism in the discharge of the committee's duties.
Covering the three (3) zones of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, viz: Ikpoba Hill, Upper Sakponba and Sapele Road, the committee is to amongst other things, consider matters relating to sustainable water management, address environmental management and conservation, forestry, natural resources and waste management.
The Council Chairman represented by his Vice, named Hon. Efosa Uwadiae Chairman of the committee; Uwadiae will oversee the general operations of the committee.
Comrade Emma Orukpe was named Deputy Chairman, Ikpoba Hill, Chief Buddy Eboigbe is Deputy Chairman, Upper Sakponba, while Mr. Saturday Erhauyi is Deputy Chairman, Sapele Road.
The Committee has been authorized to engage members from across the ten (10) Wards of the LGA for effective operations.
The inauguration which held at the Festival Hall, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Secretariat, Idogbo, Benin City, had the House Leader, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Hon. Kingsley Balogban, Chairman, House Committee on Environment, Hon. Obosa Jolly Ogbeide in attendance.
The Director, Administrative and General Services, Comrade Blessing Uhunmwagho, Chief Administrative Officer, Pst. Jossy Duze and Head of Legal Department, Mrs. Shiela Oshiotse, Esq. were also present.
The Head of Environment, Mrs. Caroline Owegie was unavoidably absent as she was away in Ogheghe on the Monday environmental clean-up.
The committee commences operations with immediate effect.
