Ikpoba-Okha Ward 4 in the bag, as campaign council secures royal blessing of Enogie of Evbomodu, Ohen Obaro of Aduwawa

The Ikpoba-Okha local government area campaign council, on Monday, visited Ward 4 of the LGA in its ongoing Ward-to-Ward consultations aimed at rallying increased support for PDP/Asue-Ogie ahead the forthcoming Edo gubernatorial election of September 21, this year. 


The visit, led by the campaign Director General of the Ikpoba-Okha Campaign Council, Pst. Blessed Ighiwiyisi, touched four critical areas in Ward 4, cementing the Party's imminent victory in the September poll. 


Wards 1, 2, and 3 have all been reached in the past weeks, by the Campaign Council, with significant assurances by the good people of Ikpoba-Okha to rally behind Asue-Ogie; two major candidates, whose names and impacts continue to reverberate hope, prosperity for all as the Obaseki-led administration winds up. 


A visit to the Palace of the Enogie of Evbomodu, HRH U. Izevbokun, on Monday, elders, women and youths gathered in their numbers, waiting to receive the team; songs of praise and support rented the air as campaign council members took their seats, having been welcomed warmly by the Enogie. 


Enogie of Evbomodu, who gave his blessings, assured the team of his community's full support, noting that Osarodion Ogie, having played significant role in the development of the community, deserves their overwhelming support; he lauded the good works of the Ikpoba-Okha local government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande. 


"Osarodion Ogie is our brother, he is our son, he has done so many things for our community; all we owe him is huge support and that we are ready to do this September; we have already decided our direction long before your arrival and there is no going back", HRH Izevbokun assured the visiting team. 


Osayande ran through his works in Ward 4; noting that his market money programme, his road rehabilitation projects, distribution of transformers, market construction, water scheme, etc, are all for the good of Ikpoba-Okha people; the Council Chairman commended the Enogie and the good people of Evbomodu for the warm reception accorded the team. 


Thereafter, the train moved to the Palace of the Ohen Obaro of Aduwawa, to further secure the land's traditional blessings; the Ohen showed his open support for the Council Chairman, noting that the same support his community gave during Osayande's LGA election last September, will equally be given to Asue-Ogie this September; the Ohen Obaro assured of the full support of Aduwawa people, asking the Odionwere of the community to pray for the team. 


"We are with you, go and win", Ohen declared. 


The campaign team then retired to Osasumwen quarters, where another huge number of supporters were waiting in the wings to receive the Ighiwiyisi-led campaign train. 


Further confirming PDP's imminent victory; Osasumwen residents reassured of their support for Asue-Ogie, noting that PDP remains the most organized and democratic political party in Nigeria deserving of popular support this September. 


A former member of the Edo State House of Assembly, Ikpoba-Okha Constituency, Hon. Henry Okhuarobo, who hails from Ward 4, charged the Ward to troop out in their numbers this September to rally behind Asue-Ogie; Okhuarobo called for increased door-to-door engagement, assuring the team that his Ward 4 will turnover the highest results in Ikpoba-Okha for Asue-Ogie. 


"The forthcoming election is a very competitive and important one, we must continue to reach out to everybody to ensure that the message gets down to every home; I am assuring the team that Ward 4 will come first in Ikpoba-Okha with the highest votes this time", Okhuarobo noted. 


The Ikpoba-Okha local government Chairman, in his address to Osasumwen residents, notes that before the September election, he will erect a borehole for the community to tackle the water deficit in the area; a development that saw to wild jubilation by members of Osasumwen and environs. 


Rounding up the campaigns in Ward 4, on Monday, the team moved to Aduwawa market, with the Aduwawa market women, singing praise songs; acknowledging the great impact the Osayande market money is having in their trade; "we are very grateful to the Council Chairman for the good works you are doing; our business is growing because of your support, we want to assure you of our undivided support, and to tell you that come September, it is Asue-Ogie all the way", the women declared. 


Osayande has said a brand new transformer has been earmarked for Urora community in Ward 4, to be delivered in the coming days; another round of market money has also been approved for Urora and Aduwawa markets, the Council Chairman noted. 


The Monday visit to Ward 4, had in attendance the traditional institution, elders, women, youths and the Hausa community, declaring their overwhelming support for PDP/Asue-Ogie as the September election fast-approaches. 


The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha, Dr. Eric Osayande, his Vice, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, Hon. Henry Okhuarobo, PDP Vice Chairman, Ikpoba-Okha LGA, Pst. Paul Osazuwa, Ikpoba-Okha Campaign Council Director General, Pst. Blessed Ighiwiyisi, former EDSOGPADEC Chairman, Pst. Kennedy Osifo, DDG, Ikpoba Hill Zone, Comrade Austin Uhunmwagho, woman leader, Mrs. Florence Edobor and other women leaders, and a host of others were amongst members of the campaign council present at the Ward 4 visit. 


The Asue-Ogie support base continue to swell in Ikpoba-Okha as Wards 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 gets set to receive the campaign team.
