Ward 6 shuts down for Asue-Ogie, as Ikpoba-Okha campaign council takes ward-to-ward tour to areas, markets, parks

Ward 6, Ikpoba-Okha, witnessed a tumultuous turnout of people and supporters of Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie, when the Ighiwiyisi-led Ikpoba-Okha Campaign Council took its ongoing Ward-to-Ward tour to the largest Ward in Edo State, Ward 6, on Friday. 


A vast majority of residents who appreciate the excellent works in Edo under Gov. Governor Godwin Obaseki, were charged as they galvanized support for Asue-Ogie. 


The team made its first stop at Oyenmwosa Street, Off Uwa Street, where landlords, landladies and hundreds of residents waited in determination to receive the Asue-Ogie gospel.


Women, men, youths in their numbers trooped out to receive the train, with strong assurances of support for the governor and deputy governor hopeful, this September. 


The Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, enumerated his works, ranging from road repairs to market money for women, market construction, provision of boreholes, school blocks, distribution of transformers, sports, security, reforms, and other essentials that has made his administration a practicable model for effective local government administration. 


The good people of Oyenmwosa, who are direct beneficiaries of massive road construction in the Ward, declared undivided support for Asue-Ogie, noting that they are ready for more development from November this year. 


The train moved to the Palace of the Enogie of Etete; the Enogie, HRH C.I. Omorodion, gave his royal blessings to the PDP candidates; he commended Osayande for his works across the loca government area, and affirmed that there is need to sustain ongoing reforms in the State. 


The immediate past Member of the Edo State House of Assembly, Ikpoba-Okha Constituency, Hon. Henry Okhuarobo, alongside the current Member, Hon. Nicholas Asonsere, took turns to speak, further drawing cross-cultural support for the PDP candidates. 


Santana market was the next stop, where a crowd of market women and passersby were seen, charging up for Asue-Ogie ahead September; Santana market women hailed the Ikpoba-Okha local government Chairman, for his market money programme for which one hundred Santana market women have benefitted.


The women also commended the Council Chairman for his timely intervention when the market caught fire in his first term. 


The train moved thereafter, to Erediauwa, to address residents and members of ANNEWAT (Keke riders); with support from here and there. 


Pst. Paul Osazuwa, the Ikpoba-Okha PDP Vice Chairman, charged residents to run with Asue-Ogie as they are the most competent and better qualified for the office of governor and deputy governor, respectively. 


The ovation was loud, as men, women, boys and girls trooped out of their homes to join the march, with songs of Asue-Ogie renting the air. 


Thereafter, the Erediauwa Keke riders rallied support for Asue-Ogie, assuring the team of their 100% support, September.


They however raised issues of security, for which the Council Chairman promised to create a sector command to tackle emerging security issues, directly affecting the Keke operators; it was jubilation all through as Osayande granted requests here and there. 


The train then took a long ride to PZ Junction Keke park, where another set of hundreds of Keke riders waited patiently to declare their support; we are with you, we are very comfortable because of the favourable policies that you have provided for our operations; we are happy and will give our full support to the PDP this September. 


Strong assurances from all the groups, areas, parks, markets, visited by the train on Friday; stamping the huge electoral victory expected of Ward 6 this September. 


Lastly, the train met with Evboriaria market women, fifty of whom are beneficiaries of the Osayande market money; in fact, the market money programme of the Osayande-led administration in his second term took off at Evboriaria, with fifty women benefiting last year. 


Osayande, in his promise to Evboriaria market women, said he will tear down the market and construct a befitting structure after election; he however, noted that the Council Engineerin, will visit the market site next week, to do a needs assessment of the toilet. 


The women jubilated, with words of assurances for the PDP/Asue-Ogie.


Earlier, the train paid a courtesy call on hundreds of bypass private park owners, who converged on Y-Junction, Ward 8, to endorse the Asue-Ogie movement; a large number of private park owners were present as Hon. Henry Okhuarobo and the former EDSOGPADEC Chairman, Pst. Kennedy Osifo charged them up. 


Indeed it has been a Friday of assurances and reassurances from the good people of Ikpoba-Okha. 


Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Vice Chairman, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Kingsley Balogban, Secretary to Local Government, Barr. Osagie Igbinomwanhia, Special Adviser to Council, Hon. Desmond Iyen, LGA Woman Leader, and other women leaders, other members of the Ikpoba-Okha campaign council were present at the Friday tour. 


Members of the Ward 6 campaign train, including the Ward Chair, Pa Urubisi, his counterpart, Hon. Charles Adenomo, a fronline leader in the Ward, Rev. Martins Evbuomwan, former Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Osarenren Evbuomwan, woman leader, and other women from the Ward, the Ward 6 Councilor, Hon. Obosa Jolly Ogbeide and several others were also present on Friday. 


"We are solidly behind you; we will rally our friends and family for Asue-Ogie ahead September", the people of Ward 6 has assured strongly. 


Wards 7, 8, 9, and 10 are next in line to be visited in the coming days, the campaign council has announced.
