Pandemonium erupted in Isihor community around Evidence junction on July 31st 2024 when suspected political thugs shot a member of the opposition party who unsuspectinglyj strayed into their midst during a nocturnal meeting of the group.
Sporadic gunshots were fired at Lucky John Akenuna in Isihor community after he unknowingly walked into a gathering of political thugs plotting a reprisal attack on opposition party members within the community, it was confirmed.
According to information made available to our correspondent, Lucky John Akenuna who was returning from an undisclosed location, was brutally attacked by the thugs who shot him within close range as sporadic gunshots were repeatedly released into the atmosphere along the bush path where the group gathered for their nocturnal meeting.
He was however left for dead by the group after the gunshots attack as it was said that the thugs abandoned and took him for dead.
Isihor community in recent times has recorded over 4 brutal killings all related to political crisis within the community, it was confirmed.
It was said that the thugs took him for dead after the gunshots attack on his life as he was not expected to leave their presence at the meeting ground alive after he overhead their plot to strike other members of the opposition party within the community as he already saw their faces and knew about their identities.
Lucky John Akenuna was said to have been rescued by local vigilante on night duty parading the community when all of a sudden his body was discovered along a bush path lying almost lifeless in his own pool of blood.
According to a source in the community who pleaded anonymity, Lucky John Akenuna was however immediately hospitalized in a private hospital at an undisclosed location .
Our correspondent however gathered that information about the gunshot attempt on his life immediately went viral several days after in the community as his near-death situation following the midnight attack by the political thugs suddenly spread across every nooks and crannies of the community.
It was later said that the thugs several days after the midnight attack of July 31st again went after him by storming his apartment in the community.
However, Lucky John Akenuna's neighbours all scampered for safety when the thugs several days after reportedly attacked his apartment ransacking the entire building for his whereabouts but were unsuccessful in their search, it was confirmed.
Meanwhile, the recent attack by the political thugs according to some local residents in the community was a desperate measure to silence every opposition party members ahead of the September 21st 2024 forthcoming gubernatorial election, it was gathered.
Investigation by our correspondent further revealed that the spate of violent attacks in the community recently increased alarmingly as two casualties were recorded within the community several weeks ago before the recent attack on Lucky John Akenuna.
At the time of filling this report the whereabouts of Lucky John Akenuna remained unknown as he was said to be recuperating from the fatal gunshots wounds at an undisclosed location while the mounting pressure by the suspected thugs to eliminate him increasingly heightened on daily basis.
