BREAKING: INEC INCORRECTLY ADDED 5,530 VOTES FOR APC IN EGOR, COURT EXHIBITS SHOW

Crusaderhotnews

The Justice Wilfred Kpochi-led three-member Edo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has today Friday 24th January, 2025 admitted additional evidence tendered by the Petitioners Witness and Ward Collation Agent in Egor LGA, which shows that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) incorrectly collated and added extra 5,530 votes for APC in Egor LGA at the September 21st Governorship Election in Edo State.

Testifying before the tribunal sitting in Benin City on the petition marked EPT/ED/GOV/02/2024, the witness revealed that a thorough examination of all Forms EC8A, EC8B, EC8C, EC8D including CTC of IREV, shows clearly that INEC wrongfully allocated incorrect scores to APC in Egor LGA and the incident of Collation of incorrect scores affected 23 Polling Units in Egor LGA

Pressed under cross examination by 1st, 2nd and 3rd respondents' Counsels,  the witness insisted and established that he is a Ward collation Agent and  personally examined all the 23 Polling Units results that he relied upon and well tabulated on his written statements on oath.

The total votes over stated for APC is 5,530 votes. This means that 5,530 votes ought to be deducted from the total scores collated and declared for APC by INEC.

In addition, he also told the court that the first respondents(INEC) failed to record the serial number of the result sheets, ballot papers and BVAS Machines used for the September 21st Governorship Election in 6 Polling Units in Egor LGA in violation of the Electoral Act 2022 and Manual for the conduct of Governorship Elections in Nigeria.

The hearing continues with the appearance of more PDP witnesses.
