These twelve elected Councilors of Oredo Local Government Council, who did not deploy the hammer of kangaroo impeachment on their elected Chairman, Tom Obaseki, are the true heroes of our democracy; when the night is over and Edo regains its pride of place soonest, we shall accord Oredo's twelve the honour they deserve.
These are the true Honourables, having held themselves together despite intimidation, harassment, financial inducements and all the greek gifts they were subjected to, they collectively refused to have their Chairman's head in plate.
Meanwhile, some power-hungry Councilors, now illegal acting Chairmen, who could not even read the impeachment note written for them, did not even wait for Okpebholo's agents to beckon on them, they willingly gave themselves for such dishonorable task.
Thinking they would have unrestrained access to Council's finances, today, they have become products of illegality with no authorization or mandate to sign ordinary cheque; they can't generate revenue and they lack capacity to pay staff salaries; even the embattled INEC-select governor, who will be booted out of Osadebey Avenue soon, has ignored them.
For the twelve unadulterated Oredo Councilors, we commend you for standing strong together in the battle field, for keeping your honour, dignity, integrity, strength and pride, do not despair, we are almost there, once the night is over, we shall all gather to tell the world how you kept strong while others fell.
