Former Director-General, Nigeria Governors Forum, Earl Osaro Onaiwu,has called on the Governors of the 36 State of the Federation, private sectors and well meaning Nigerians to rally behind the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
In an appeal he describes as "heartfelt"he emphasized on the inexhaustible roles the Organization plays in
providing succour to ordinary Nigerians in dire need especially those who are vulnerable and their humanity is being challenged.
As a nation, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that these vulnerable individuals receive the support and care they deserve.
"I urge all stakeholders to rise up to this mission and augment government efforts in providing adequately for our compatriots in dire need through the commission.
"I also commend the commission, led by its energetic leader, Honourable Federal Commissioner, Honourable Aliyu Tijani, and his team, for their sacrifice and enormous contribution and expertise in providing excellent service for the benefit of Nigerians. Their dedication to the welfare of refugees, migrants, and internally displaced persons is truly commendable.
"I appeal to the 36 state governors to provide the necessary resources and backing to enable the commission to fulfill its mandate. Furthermore, I call upon the public and private sectors to collaborate with the NCFRMI in providing essential services, such as food, shelter, healthcare, and education, to those in need.
"Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our fellow Nigerians who are struggling to overcome adversity. Let us join hands to support the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons in its noble mission.the Earl stated.
