Edo residents continue to leave in fear of either being kidnapped, killed or harassed, as these acts have become daily occurrence in parts of the State; hundreds of victims of the unhindered mayhem continue to cry out for help on the heels of Okpebholo's apparent incapacity to tackle the menace.

Residents are now endangered, living in fear and uncertainty with high possibility of a strike by unchecked daredevils within communities in Edo.

In Edo Central particularly, the home of the governor, there has been numerous cases of kidnappings, killings and harassment of residents, which has led to the people devising alternative means to protect themselves; yesterday, we saw jungle justice meted on reported kidnappers, who were burnt to ash in return of their deeds on residents.

The last few weeks has seen to chaos in Uromi, Ekpoma and other parts of the Central, with growing insecurity while the Okpebholo-led administration show little or no concern.

On a daily, ugly developments continue to grace the media space in Edo; despite the hundreds of hilux vehicles distributed to security agencies in the State, there has been increased insecurity ever since that distribution.

The Edo State government has been advised to double its efforts and show capacity in the fight against insecurity, as Edo people have become endangered amidst heightened insecurity ravaging the State.

What is the governor doing with his security vote, what are his policies on security and how come the governor is not connecting with Edo people on issues bordering on their lives and properties?

These questions have remained unanswered as the Okpebholo-led government continue to show unwillingness to fight insecurity; the State government has not even deemed it fit to react to the ugly incident that happened in Uromi yesterday, were reported kidnappers were set ablaze to the glare of the public.

'Why has the state government not reacted to the unfortunate incident in Uromi yesterday"? observers have asked.
