Arise tv has descended heavily on Edo governor Monday Okpebholo for failing to provide leadership and quality governance in Edo—the tv presenters urged Okpebholo to focus on governance and drop Tinubu's campaign.
The media facility noted that efforts to reach the Edo State government on Aisha's kidnap matter proved abortive, as the Okpebholo-led administration maintained defeaning silence throughout the two-week ordeal.
Aisha was kidnapped two Saturdays ago in Auchi, with a ₦20M ransom announced for her freedom—the Edo lady was given till the following Monday 5pm to provide the money failure which she will be killed.
It took the intervention of good samaritans to raise the ransom, leading to her release last Friday—rights activist, Harrison Gwamishnu, alongside other patriots, helped secure her release, afterwhich Aisha reunited with her family.
Meanwhile, the Edo State government has come under fire for failure to rise up to the responsibility of providing security for Edo residents—Aisha's case is one of many tragedies for which the Okpebholo-led administration has shown a crass lack of capacity and coordination to tackle.
Okpebholo's obvious abandonment of governance for Tinubu's campaign has become a concerning issue, necessitating AriseTV and other good-spirited Nigerians to call on the governor to wake up to the real issues.
