Director, Entertainment and Creative Economy, Edo State, MC Allamano, has thrown weight behind the prestigious MOWAA—Allamano noted that the multi-billion dollar facility is huge gain for Edo State, owing to its capacity to crystalize the State's economy.
Allamano spoke in a one minute, fifty three seconds video, hammering on the tremendous potentialities of MOWAA: the Edo Creative Economy Director urged Edo people to embrace the institution.
"The Museum of West African Art, MOWAA is a welcome development in Benin, the Creative sector has been routine for it long before its establishment".
Allamano however said there is need for better, stronger collaboration with the Edo State government, by way of necessary approvals, and the Oba Palace, by way of knowledge exchange, research and acknowledgement of the place of the Palace in cultural preservation and promotion particularly within the Benin nation, where MOWAA is resident.
Allamano noted that the Edo creative industry will be better positioned with MOWAA as the fulcrum, noting that the world class facility must approach government for better clarification on their operational approval—"Edo people are concerned and they need proper clarification so MOWAA can operate", he added.
Allamano's thoughts aligns with the broader perspective of a vast majority of Edo people at home and abroad, who are now advocating strongly for the success of MOWAA in Benin, particularly following heightened controversies that has greeted the facility in the last couple of days.
"I have a lot of collaborations, by way of connecting Edo youths, creatives with MOWAA, I can't wait to see it begin operations", Allamano concluded.
