A full load of tanker coveying petroleum product has exploded in Sapele Road, Benin City—killing the driver, his motor boy and several others.
The tanker is said to have derailed as a result of bad roads in Okpebholo's Edo.
Eye witness account notes that residents scampered for safety, seeing the tanker derail having fell in a ditch following the very bad roads in the State.
Scores of cars are said to have been badly affected by the explosion, which occurred Saturday evening.
The incident saw to residents calling out on the Edo State governor Monday Okpebholo, to focus on governance and drop the Tinubu campaign.
Okpebholo continue to prioritize the Tinubu2027 campaign in 2025, abandoning the real issues of governance and security—an ugly development that has led the State to an abyss of insecurity, communal clashes, infrastructure decay, economic deficit, and poor multisectoral national and global rating.
Amid these life-threatening incidents, the Okpebholo-led administration constantly maintains defeaning silence, suggesting a lack of capacity to tackle emerging issues, making Edo people to resort to self-help.
