Okpebholo appoints Patrick Ebojele as new Chief Press Secretary, drops Fred Itua

By Gidigba Group

Edo governor Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Patrick Ebojele as his new Chief Press Secretary, effective immediately—Ebojele takes over from the governor's immediate past Press Secretary, Fred Itua, who is to be reassigned a new task to be communicated later.

In a letter signed by the Secretary to State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., and made available to press, "Dr. Ebojele will take over from Mr. Fred Itua, who will, upon handover, avail a new assignment to be communicated in due course".

"Dr. Ebojele's journalism career spans reputable Nigerian media houses where he served as Edo/Delta correspondent for Channels Television, as well as correspondent roles in New Nigerian Newspaper, Champion Newspaper and Comet Newspaper", the letter reads.

Although reason(s) for Itua's replacement has not been made public, observers are of the opinion that he failed to properly communicate Okpebholo's policies and programmes to the general public, thereby derailing the social and public capital of the administration.

"The government expresses appreciation to Mr. Itua for his contributions and services", the letter concludes.
