Enabulele Charges Team Edo to Deliver Golden Performance at Niger Delta Games

Crusaderhotnews

As momentum gathers for the second edition of the Niger Delta Games, set to hold in Edo State, the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has stepped up morale-boosting efforts, rallying Team Edo to rise to the occasion and make the state proud.

In a statement issued by his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, the Sports Commission boss reaffirmed management’s confidence in the team’s readiness to excel on home ground.

Enabulele gave this assurance during a strategic visit to the athletes’ camp in Benin City on Wednesday, where he met with coaches and the 282 athletes currently in final preparations for the Games.

The visit, which featured top management officials of the Commission, underscored the administration’s firm commitment to athletes’ welfare, motivation, and competitive success.

Addressing the team, Enabulele commended their discipline, resilience, and sacrifices, particularly their dedication to camping away from their families in pursuit of sporting excellence. He assured them that their commitment reflects the determination of a host state ready to set a benchmark in organization and performance.

He charged Team Edo to compete with courage, unity, and an unwavering winning mindset, emphasizing that victory demands more than raw talent. According to him, discipline, teamwork, respect for authority, and strict adherence to the rules of competition remain critical ingredients for success.

Reminding the athletes of the honour of representing Edo State as hosts, he urged them to conduct themselves as exemplary ambassadors both on and off the field of play. He encouraged them to convert months of rigorous training into podium finishes and medal-winning performances, assuring them of sustained management support throughout the tournament.

With just two days to the opening ceremony, the atmosphere in camp remains focused and optimistic as Team Edo prepares to compete with determination and make a resounding statement at the regional sporting fiesta.

The Games, financed by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and organised by Dunamis-Icon Limited, will run from Friday, February 20 to 27. Over 3,000 athletes, 500 officials, are expected to participate in what promises to be a landmark sporting event in the Niger Delta region.
