Kwara Church Attack: Family seeks Justice over continuous Missing of son, others

Family of Pa Usman Ayoola has cried out for help over what is regarded as continued hostage of their son, Seun Rotimi Ayoola, wife, Mrs Oluwatoyin Temitayo and their two children, Ayobami Albert and Ayomipo Alfred Ayoola, during the attack and invasion of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Isegun Eruku Zonal headquarters Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State on the 18th November 2025.

The family was among the thirty-five people abducted by bandits during evening service that fateful day.

Expressing their sadness which was confirmed through a police report dated the 29th January 2026 and signed by Inspr. John Ibhade, Matthew Taiye AKINBOBOLA, an uncle to the abducted family, had raised alarm to register his displeasure over their present whereabout despite several efforts to release from captivity, saying the situation has brought trauma and anguish to the entire families, especially his aged father, Pa Usman Ayoola and the entire indigenes of Ikereku quarters, Abeokuta East Ogun State.

AKINBOBOLA, further said that though his senior brother, Pa Usman Ayoola and all his children were devoted Muslim faithful, until Seun Rotimi Ayoola, got converted to Christianity and subsequently got married to his wife at the Christ Apostolic Church, Lagos, before relocating to Kwara State.

He added that the unfortunate incident had elicited public reactions as some lamented the high level of insecurity in the country thereby posing serious threats to lives and properties calling for urgent intervention by the governments while others blame the villagers for not security conscious.

He, therefore appealed to President Tinubu, the Governor of Kwara State Alhaji Ahmed Abdulrahman and all the security agencies to come to their rescue, insisting the bandits again on Tuesday, February 3, unleashed another attack carried on Woro Community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State at 5pm where about 78 residents including children and students were killed.

He asse saying the local government conducted mass burial on the victims on Wednesday, February 4 

He disclosed that though the governments and security agencies in the state had commiserated with the victims' families but regretted the brutal killings.
