Crusaderhotnews

BY- DR BISHOP AKHALAMHE AMIEMENOGHENA, PH.D

(ONOSHOZE).

2023 general election is highly imminent and closer than we think. With the proposed time table for the election released by the independent National Electoral commission (INEC), all things being equal, become very clear as the mirror that, presidential primary Election is billed to hold June, 2022  to provide ample time for prospective Candidates to convince Electorates with the content of their policy documents before the election.

According to Johnson Ugoji, the Author of comprehensive Government; Election can be defined as an act of choosing Candidates who will represent the people of the country in the parliament and in other positions in the Government.

Election is a contest between competing political parties for Government power. Elections become very imperative as a result of impossibility of direct representative in the modern States. In this indirect representation, citizens through election, choose those who will represent their interests and opinions in the regislature and other Government positions.

However, Elections are held every four years in Nigeria for the following reasons;To choose representatives,  Negate obnoxious policies, foster Democracy, for changing of government and to measure public opinion etc.

As we prepare for 2023 general election, it becomes very pertinent to avoid the mistake of choosing wrong leaders that will further complicate our problems. NIGERIANS have seen Hell on earth in the last few years.

This political season usher in the opportunity for all Nigerians to think alike, harmonize choice and decision irrespective of political affiliation to reposition Nigeria on the fastest lane of economic prosperity and alleviate poverty by bringing into power, empathetic and God fearing leaders.

2023 is not time to gamble with the future of Nigeria. It is not time to argue and fight on social media but time to unite on common purpose. We must jettison party and regional interest and collectively look for leaders with the following traits;

- We need leaders with the fear of God.

-Leaders with high mental capacity.

- Leaders with good health condition.

-Leaders that will unite Nigeria.

-Creative and innovative leaders.

-people driven leaders.

-Honest and empathetic leaders and

- A host of Others.

A new Nigeria is possible. Let's choose rightly.
