Professor Kayode Oke, an academic who chaired the Convention’s Programme Committee, highlighted the attributes of an empowered man who, he said, should be able to make the right decisions, especially on the home front, such that would guide him to overcome the present difficult times. According to him, he should also be able to provide for his family, mentor those who are looking up to him for prospects, and be a visionary.

In particular, the professor cautioned the parents against compelling their children to study their (parents) choice of field, especially if such children have no interest in such fields, but to restrict themselves to ensuring that the choice the children make holds prospects for them.

From the *United Nations* ’ perspective, Amb. Prof. Joseph Legend Mfor described difficult times as a global problem that, he noted, requires a global solution.

The professor reeled out statistics released by the United Nations indicating a sharp drop in life expectancy, putting the figures at about 56.2, due to what he attributed to stress and strains. The Int. PRO of the fellowship said it was not the plan of God that any man go “home” untimely, nor raise a family and then lead them halfway.

He posited that most problems bedeviling the man are self-inflicted, and the solutions lay with him.

He added, " *If you want to enjoy your marriage and live long, your wife must be happy. Because your wife carries your children for nine months and the way the body structure is made, your children are already used to your wife*

*After delivery, you go to work and your wife takes care of the children. There's a divine bond that has already been created between your wife and the children.* *There is nothing that can take that bond away from the children.*

*So, you, as a man, have to get introduced into that bond.* *If you are not introduced into that bond, you are alone."**
