In an effort to enhance the skills of staff of Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), the Managing Director, Mr. Suleiman Aledeh, has organized a one-day sensitization programme and event party for all staff of the media organization .
According to Aledeh, The programme is aimed to enlighten staff on the importance of healthy living, prioritizing mental well-being, adopting new strategies, and strengthening individual and collective capacities for improved productivity and well-being.
Speaking at the event, Dr Osahon Enabulele, the former President of the World Medical Association (WMA), founder and Director General of the Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation (DOEF), addressed the need to restructure attitudes toward healthy living. He emphasized that fostering a healthier lifestyle requires collective effort, starting with individual actions. He urged participants to educate themselves, support one another, and make deliberate choices that contribute to a healthier and more sustainable future.
Dr. Enabulele highlighted the growing concern over rising rates of chronic diseases, mental health challenges, and lifestyle-related ailments. He stressed that addressing these issues requires more than medical interventions—it demands a shift in perspective, encouraging individuals to adopt sustainable, health-focused habits in their daily lives.
Speaking further, Dr. Enabulele outlined the fundamental principles of healthy living, which include moderation in food and drink consumption, particularly alcohol and tobacco, regular physical activity, mental well-being, and adequate rest. He also encouraged staff to prioritize mental health by practicing mindfulness, reducing screen time, and fostering social connections, all of which have significant impacts on overall well-being.
He further added that modern lifestyles, characterized by stress, poor dietary choices, and sedentary behavior, necessitate a rethinking of what it means to live healthily. He urged everyone to view healthy living as a holistic approach to life, integrating physical, mental, and social health for long-term benefits.
In response, Managing Director EBS, Mr Aledeh Suleiman expressed his gratitude to Dr Enabulele for his insightful message and commended his remarkable contributions to societal development which stands as a beacon of hope in fostering community engagement. He acknowledged the purpose of the event, which was to promote inclusivity, strengthen team bonding, and inspire staff to adopt healthier lifestyles.
The event was attended by EBS management and staff, the Edo NUJ Chairman, Dr. Festus Alenkhe, EBS Analyst, Mr. Kayode Alude, Media Crew, and other dignitaries.
The program concluded with a celebration, where attendees relaxed, socialized, and rejuvenated. The gathering provided an opportunity for staff to unwind, detoxify, and start the new year refreshed and energized.
